Hello Willeiweld,

9 years ago my son had a red one
it was fun guitar.

I played it regularly, I wish I knew
where it was today.

Cheers.

I just bought one last weekend from Guitar Center and it's a lot of fun. I bought it for a travel guitar and for $99 you just can't beat it. I have a feeling the tuners will need upgrading but other than that it's great.

I bought one last week. I bought it as a grab & go outfit to go with my Silvertone 1448 amp.

The sound is some what like dark like runnin fat '50s without the spank. The tuners are total junk. Yes, theyre now gone. Im not sure if Ill change the electrics yet. The magnets are strong, which is a good thing.

If you change the tuners theyre great for adult for youth. If youre not, guuna do the mod, dont bother buyin one. The owner will get frustrated.

My opinion

What tuners did you go with and did you have to drill?

I used some black Grover Tuners I had on hand.
Yes I had to drill, or rather a few minutes with a Dremel.

Thanks! Gotta get that done.

The only mod I've done so far is a Texas Special pick-up in the bridge position.

I bought one for my son's birthday. It's a pretty cool guitar but needed a serious setup. The intonation was way off. I'm still trying to get it right.

My son bought one a couple of weeks ago from GC. She's Torino Red and surprisingly it sounds good. The light gauge strings are way too light for my playing (I use .012s or .013s). He has a Marshall MG10KG and this mini Strat has a real good tone. I might have to buy one for myself!

im getting one for sure ... to the guy who post picture of his miodifed mini = amazing .

im buying one tomorrow . gonna do these mods :

- Repainting in white and fill it with full of stickers after ( even on the pickguard :)

- fender schaller locking tuners ( same as a u.s stratocaster deluxe )

- seymour duncan invader humbucker in the bridge ..( no other pickup ... no need for a neck or middle pickup .

- havent decide yet if the bridge need an upgrade .

- full set up and tune up buy a professionnel luthier .

bottom line im ready to put 500 $ on a mini even if it will still be a mini .... i already have a full size fender hss american strat ... but i want a travel guitar .. i have small fingsrs and find it hard sometimes to play standing up with my strat . i play mostly punk rpck /pop punk as a rythm guitarist so im playing palm muting and powerchord all the time .

But

i still dont know cause for a couple $$$ more i could have same as a mini but built by a professionnel luthier with alder body .. all maple neck ( no rosewood ) .. etc..
