I'm looking to replace the neck on a 97 NC7 Affinity with a Fender neck I want to buy online at Stratosphere.com

This particular strat is a full body, 22 fret, 42.8mm nut which is much larger than the affinitys you see today.

The problem is I do not know which Fender necks will fit because the website does not post the size of the heels of their necks or I would just measure and compare.

What do I need to look for when buying a new neck in terms of fit? Nut Width?
Same 22 fret count?

This answer might not actually help very much, but anyways:
In general, and in theory, same type Fender/Squier Strat necks are interchangeable.
So you can use any standard (= four bolt, non-contoured, non-Micro-Tilt™) neck you choose. Even the 21/22 frets doesn't matter since the neck end is the same; the 22nd fret is on an overhang or 'lip'. And nut width doesn't (read: shouldn't) have any effect on the neck heel dimensions.

But in practice, it may not be that simple every time. The pocket and the neck end may need fitting, sometimes quite a lot of it, before they match well. And sometimes a shim is required.
That's because of tolerances, different finish thicknesses, different countries/factories/decades etc.

So you just have to choose a neck you like best, and remember that the fretboard (radius, rosewood/maple) & fret size & finish type (gloss/satin/worn, poly/nitro...) have a lot to do with how a neck feels to play.

And then it's just the final fitting; easy or difficult depending on how lucky you are.
I don't know your skill level, but using a pro is a good option if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

BTW1: Why does the neck need replacing?
BTW2: If the guitar is the small headstock type (some say it's the 'first model run') Affinity, it would be nice to see pics; especially from the insides while the guitar is under construction. NC-serials are much rarer than CY's, at least where I live.
