Hi guys,

I have a Squier Black and chrome series guitar body from the mid 2000's lying around and was hoping to put it back together. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure whether this bridge would fit it?

https://www.thomann.de/ie/fender_americ ... ch_new.htm

Unfortunately I can't attach a photo but the distance between the exterior sides of the threaded holes on the bridge of the body is 7cm approx.

I assume all these distances are standard across all Fender affiliated instruments?

Could anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Thank you.

M

To put it simply, no.

Your bridge assembly part number is 005-5408-000 (or 0055408000), and even for that different sources give different dimensions - probably partly because of the metric/imperial conversions.
It's a so-called narrow string spacing bridge, anyways.
And some Squiers have a thinner body, so some trem blocks stick out from the backside.

There's no way to tell if that Thomann bridge will fit, since they don't give any dimensions.

If you need help from the forum, make helping you as easy as possible - pics are needed quite often to make things clearer.

The measuring is from center to center, and should be somewhere between 50 & 60 mm, depending on the bridge type.

In general, a fully functional bridge is a crucial part of how a guitar feels & sounds. Replacing a bridge ain't rocket science, but there's always a chance of something unexpected turning up - e.g. the trem post holes aren't as expected.

I don't know anything about your experience and skill level.
But one good possibility (applicable if you have little or some experience) is to put the guitar back together with all parts original and get it playing at its best. Doing that will teach a lot about setups, and they have at least as much effect on a guitar's playability & sound as a new bridge.
