I have a 1992 squire strat made in Japan in 1992, I have lost the tremolo arm so need to replace it, I have already purchased 5 different ones, 6mm & 5mm but the screw thread is too big, it appears to be smaller than 4.8mm? Can anyone help me in identifying the correct size for this guitar, just for reference I also have a 92 fender made in Japan that fits the squire? Unfortunately, I can't measure it because my son has it and I can't get to him for a while.
Thanks Den

Your best bet would be a hardware (or such) shop with both metric and imperial machine screws for testing...

Anyways, if the 5mm is too big, maybe a 10-32 trem arm would fit - that's size #10 = 3/16" diameter = about 4,8mm.
