Hey guys, just got a new CV50's from my local music store. I have a s/n under the 'glass' on the back side of headstock and on my QC card. And it can not be recognised on fender of. site. I don't know what to think. For sure it is ideal and plays great as all CVs do but it is still very strange. Any thoughts ? :?:

Hi, sorry for answering late.

Fender's search engine (on product registration serial number search page) is nowhere near perfect, especially with Far East made instruments. And the 2016 maybe isn't yet updated.
Try contacting Fender Consumer Relations with the serial number if you want to investigate further.

Squier Classic Vibe series guitars/basses serial numbers start with CGS year of manufacture. 'C' is for China, 'G' is for Grand Reward (the name of the factory where the Classic Vibe and Fender Modern Player Series are built), and ’S' for 'Squier'.

I'll take a wild guess that aplies to CGR Classic Vibes, too. C for China, GR for Grand Reward factory would make sense, even with the CGR+a-fourth-letter system.

I have the same issue with my '04 Indonesian Affinity Strat. Not present in the database.
