I just picked up a Squier Bullet that says "Crafted in Indonesia" with a serial number Starting with SIO... from what I understand Squier's made in Indonesia should have serial numbers stating with IC/ICF? I can't find ANY info on Squier's with serials starting with "SIO"! Anybody have any ideas!?!

For one thing, someone faking an Indonesian Squier Bullet would make sense in very rare parts of the globe.
Then again, I've never come across a "SIO" serial.

How old is the guitar supposed to be? The first two digits should tell.
And post pics on the forum, might help diagnosing. And/or contact consumerrelations@fender.com to see what they make of it.

Edit: Far fetched and guesswork, but is there any chance the first letters of the serial would have been worn off, and the serial originally was (IC)S10 (+ the rest of it)? Edit2; even more far fetched - you can't be reading the "S/n" (short for "Serial number") as SIO..?

By any chance is there the word "USED" stamped on the back of the headstock of your guitar. And is there gold surrounding the serial number?

Thanks for the feedback...
No used stamp or gold around the serial number.
I'm pretty sure it's "SI0" the stamp is very clear. But I guess it could just be "SI" and then 0. The serial number is
SI041101333. I'll send some pics in a few.

SI followed by 04.
Indonesia, 2004, made by Samick, most likely a pack guitar originally.
Pics would possibly confirm that guess.

Kicking myself in the xxx for not asking the most obvious questions...

Are you typing SIO (Letters) ?

I reckon that should be SI 04 which would make it a S =Samick I =Indonesia 04 =2004

Plywood body ?
