I recently bought a Squier Bullet Mustang HH and I must say I'm rather pleased with it. The 24" scale suits me better than the 24.5" and 25" scale guitars of another manufacturer for most of the things I play.

So, does anyone have any thoughts about this guitar? Is the bridge up to snuff? The electronics? The pick-ups sound okay to me, but I don't have much of an ear.

The neck finish doesn't seem conducive to sliding, or at least it feels that way to me, but I don't do much of it and I suck at it anyway.

I'm still interested in a old, Duo Sonic-scale length guitar as flat-seventh's at the third fret are still a problem for me with the Mustang. But I suppose that's another topic.

Actually, nothing else matters.

You ask about the bridge, electronics and pickups, but don't trust any internet wisdom (including mine...) over your own judgment. Just make sure it's set up well, and play as much as you can. If you some day get the feeling to mod/upgrade something, the forum will surely help.

BTW, the 'normal' scale length for a Duo-Sonic™ is the same 24" as for the 'normal' Mustang® - and the 'normal' Musicmaster™. All were at some time available with a 22.5"scale.

The flat sevenths on third (as well as Fminors on first) come with practice - with any scale length. And if by not conducive to sliding you mean the neck feels sticky, the quick fix is a tiny amount of baby powder on your neck hand. The situation probably gets better with time and practice, if not you can matt the neck finish a bit - ask for info if you need it.

Thanks for the reply. I was just curious if others had experience with this guitar. It is, I believe, a quite new model.

I actually just won an auction for a 1993 Fender Duo Sonic reissue so I'll have 22.5", 24", 24.5", and 25" scale lengths to choose from. Lately, I've been thinking I should get a Stratocaster too. I probably just need professional help at this point.
