I'd like to find out if this is an Affinity, Bullet, whatever the name of it would be. Serial# is IC050625676 and it says made in Indonesia right beside that, so I understand it's made by Cort in Indonesia in 2005 or early 06. But what is is. Looks like rosewood fretboard, am I right? Did it used to have a tremolo rod on it? Picture at link below. (The image code didn't seem to work properly in the preview.)

I'd say that's an Affinity (HSS).
There's a slight chance it's a 'pack' guitar - those don't always belong to usual categories.
And yes, the fretboard is rosewood (or at least some wood they're allowed to call that).
A trem arm is always supplied with the guitar, so there has been one originally.

BTW, why do you need the model info..?

Why do I need the model info? Because I didn't see it on the back of the headstock, so I wondered if it's a Bullet, which I heard is lower-end. I am just trying to buy myself a cheap guitar, but might as well avoid what's known to be worse and test out the better ones. EG if it's from China, I'm not going to bother, but I knew this one was Indonesia.

OK.

One problem with that thinking is, Bullets and Affinities have switched their position in the Squier internal ranking list during different periods. To me, both are Squier's lower end guitars, and both can be quite playable instruments delivering typical Fender sounds - with a proper setup.
Another pitfall is that some Chinese FMIC guitars are quite good instruments (that's both my personal opinion and the 'general interweb consensus'); Classic Vibe and Modern Player series, for instance.

On cheap guitars, my advice is to a) forget the origin, concentrate on the individual guitar (differences can be surprisingly big), and b) choose a hardtail model (like a bulletproof Tele).

Of course, it's totally up to you if you want to follow my advice.

So when you say hardtail, does the Strat style not fit the bill? Thanks for your expert opinions. Of course the individual guitar is what counts.

IMHO:

I'm no way speaking agains a Strat. This is more like "things to consider when buying" blabber.

In my (really, way too many to count) years of fiddling with guitars, I've found that many beginner guitarists play with instruments not set up properly. They buy cheap guitars from shops that don't do the setup, they don't invest in pro setups, and they don't have experience to do it themselves.

The main problems are the nut (which in the beginner price class is often low class plastic) and the tremolo. Plus, many if not most play with too much relief.
The nut is problematic, one needs experience plus some tools to get it right.
The trem can be worked around, deck it with the springs or block it with a piece of wood, and you have a hardtail.
The relief is easiest; juts adjust the neck straight and add as little relief as needed, if any.

A good pro will do a full setup for way below 100$€£. That's money well spent.
