you can do things with a tele that sound different with a strat and so... i had a tele and even thuogh it was only for a few months ( it got ripped) i thought it had a more rebel type vibe/look almost like whatever you played on it was your own style, probably just a nightmare or sweet dream whatever.

To start off I have to ask why Stratocaster is spelled wrong in the title of this thread?I have a Squier Standard Tele and 3 Strats,a mexi-fender,a 90 korean Squier and a 2005(ish) one as well.
Of my squier guitars the TELE is the best of the bunch. It sounds and plays as good or better than "real" teles that my friends have, and sounds pretty gnarly cranked thru a Big Muff in to my Marshall. The thing stays in tune so well its amazing,I've thrown it in a soft case and chucked it into a trunk full of assorted misc. more than once and at the end of every trip its still in tune. The only issue I've ever had with it was the fretwork, when I bought it all the frets from the 6th to the 15th were stickin out anywhere from 1/16 to 1/8" on the high e side of the neck,if it hadn't sounded better than the rest it would have stayed in the store for someone else to cut themselves on.Thankfully 5 minutes with some 120grit took care of that prob.
My squier strats are not as impressive, the pickups are weak in both although not microphonic. The 2005 has had more than a few problems, the whammy bar bound in its hole one day and snapped off,the pickup selector switch has a short and cuts out the bridge pickup randomly, and the neck.....The neck is the worst piece of crap ever.It plays nice, until the temperature of it changes. It will vary from a backbow that frets out completely to a crazy arch that you can stick your hand through with a 10 degree change in temperature. It has been set up at least 10 times and still does it.
The 90 was my first half decent guitar. It has a plywood body, worn out whammy unit that works great a dead selector switch and the deadest pickups known to man,the neck -while needeing a re-fret,is sweeter than pie.It is soon to become an organ donor.
Soon I will have 1 squier "bastard" strat and one Tele.
Squier guitars are overall a pretty good deal, just spend a little time checking them over before you buy them because the quality control isn't always up to snuff.

It'd be cool as a new series but yeah I wouldn't want all teles with floyds.y
