Does anyone know about these? I have a chance to pick one up from a guy that says he's had it for a long time. I don't know anything about them. Are they made in China, Japan, Indonesia? How old is it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. It also has a new Frontman amp, and new case. Asking $325. Thanks

Location: On the loo, regretting that gas station burrito.
I found this for you after a Google search: http://www.strat-talk.com/threads/1989- ... rat.27125/

It looks like they were made in Korea. I vaguely remember these back in the day, but I really don't know a lot about them, other than probably playing the basses in a shop back then.

Squier II's were made in both India and Korea. Playing value is usually bigger than resale value.

I checked your earlier posts and seemingly you live in the USA, so IMHO that $325 doesn't sound a very good deal. I'm thinking you could find a used case for 50, a used Frontman (plus, you could choose a lot better than a Frontman...) for another 50, and a Squier Strat for 150, totals at around 250. For the Squier II alone, maybe 100-150 depending on the condition, and if it's Korean. The Indian versions I'd pass totally - plenty of better options available.
Anyways, check the body - some are plywood. And only buy if a) everything is in good working condition, or b) you are sure you can do the repairs needed yourself. Using a pro quickly doubles the price, but not the resell value.

Thanks, I think I'll pass on it. Again, thanks.
