Hi guys

Simple question:
Will this: http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Necks/Str ... thPro.aspx
Fit this: http://intl.fender.com/en-FI/squier/ser ... -sunburst/

I'm guessing that it would work but if anyone can confirm this I'd much appreciate that.

Sorry I don't know but Warmoth give all measurements with good pictures.
Click on tab "Help "and look at "Will it fit "

May I ask you why you want to put a new and expensive $200 neck on a $400 Guitar ?

It's a simple question, but has no simple answer

Warmoth is a "Fender licenced" manufacturer, so their necks will fit Fenders and Squiers, provided the type is the same (4bolt/3bolt/contour heel etc.).
But:
A. Some Squiers cause problems - thinner bodies, different routings etc.
B. In any neck replacement, expect some fitting issues. You may find that the tolerances on the body and the neck don't match, some guitars have a helluavlot paint/lacquer residue on the neck pocket, etc.
"Drop-in replacements seldom exist."

Especially when that guitar usually gets great reviews on the neck.
(PS: Adding a 100$ on both the neck and guitar price.)

If you need to replace 1/3 of parts on a guitar maybe you have the wrong guitar, sell it and buy the right one.

This Squier is a good guitar as it for a beginner. Need a upgrade, buy a American Standard

Thanks for all of your answers.

The reason I'm asking this is that I want stratocaster with ebony fretboard. I know that there are some factory models (Jim Root models f.ex) that have that but I really like the classic strato body model.

I already own am standard and I'm thinking of having second one more "customised".

I've played a lot with my friends classic vibe strato and I agree that it's good quality guitar all togheter as it is. I'm also thinking about changing pickups for this. Man got to have some hobbies, what can I say? :)

Of course there are cheaper alternatives but it's also possible that I stick with the original neck. You never know.

I'd replace that "hobbies" with "obsessions". My advice to you is, start drinking heavily...

But seriously1, you could cut the neck costs by checking Stratosphere on ebay; they have a limited supply of WD Music's mahogany/ebony necks (10" radius, Dunlop 6105 frets) for about 160$.

And seriously2, calculate beforehand.
A CV strat, 500$. Neck (delivered), 200-400$. Pickups, 150$. Totals at 850-1050$ (plus possible costs for a guitar tech) and at that point I'm absolutely sure you want to rewire, upgrade the trem, tuning machines, plastics etc.
And: when you're finished, you have a "modded Squier CV Strat" to sell, at about 300$.
Been there, done that

Thanks for the advice (first one especially). I'll check those Stratosphere necks out. I've modded my previous guitars myself (electronics, neck adjustment etc.) Hopefully I'll be able to do this with this one too (hence the original question).

It's true that money wise my plan doesn't make that much sense. Hopefully in the end I don't have to sell the guitar to buy enough liquor to forget the whole thing.

What's wrong with the neck? (And I hope you got the guitar with a good discount for the defect.)

The economical way to go is to get another Squier neck. Doesn't have to be from a Classic Vibe, but check the neck heel measurements on the current neck and compare with the candidates.
