I have a Squier Stagemaster and its a one piece guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo system. Its about 15 years old and has a hairline crack on the back of the neck where the screws are for the locking nut. I know its not a valuable guitar, but its my first so I would like to keep it in good condition. I have a few questions.

How difficult or easy would this be to repair?
Is it possible to convert it into a 2 piece with a traditional strat neck if the neck were to break completely?
Is it possible to replace the Floyd Rose setup with a traditional bridge/nut?

I know its a lot of work for a guitar that not rare or valuable but just wondering.

For some reasons the forum wont let me add photos. The crack is a little bigger than I thought. Its a U-shape starting at the nut screws then heading up to the headstock.

How to post pics - Nutter's quick start guide

On your questions: Most cracks can be fixed. Sometimes with just gluing, but sometimes routing for reinforcement pieces is needed. Without pics, can't say how bad your situation is.

The neck switch on a neck-thru guitar would probably be among the most troublesome and expensive repair jobs. I'd imagine sawing off the old neck and routing a contoured custom heel is possible, but considering the required amount of work & money, I'd rather retire the guitar. But I repeat, most cracks can be fixed.
