I have a problem with tuners slipping on one of my Strats. It is a CV 50's 60th anniversary Strat. I also seen one for sale on ebay used and seller said it had a tuner that slips. This leads me to believe it is common to the model.
I did take one tuner off and all I could do is squish it with a pliers to tighten it up.
I have more Strats but I did a lot of work on this one so I want to replace the tuners. My question is does anyone know of a direct replacement set for this guitar. I don't want to fix them and don't want to replace with the same part number. The CV 50 chrome are 007 4936 000, I don't know what the gold part number is. I have it somewhere.
Let me know please I don't need a link. I prefer to search by ten digit genuine Fender part number to get the best price and 100% right part and fit. Everything Fender has ten digit international number even picks. I have several numbers for vintage style gold tuners but don't know if they are all the same screw hole pattern.
Thank you very much in advance

First of all, in my experience the tuning machines very seldom are the cause for not staying in tune issues - and usually a broken tuner is easy to diagnose.
On any guitar with all/several tuners "slipping", the cause is almost surely not the tuners - usually, I'd first suspect the strings aren't properly wound on the posts, aren't properly stretched etc.

To your product question: I don't think you will find a direct Fender replacement; the bushings/posts/screw holes etc. probably need some attention, and the overall dimensions of the 'tuner sixpack' may not be exactly the same.
I think this set is the closest Fender has to offer, as well as a quality upgrade: US Vintage tuning machines #0992040000 - but you need to have the skills to do the fitting properly, it ain't a drop-in job.

And just IMHO, I'd suggest spending the money on a setup by a good pro. No offence meant - I have no idea of your skill level.

Thanks those are nickel though. Actually the first one on my list was similar 099 2040 200 are gold. If anyone has replaced the tuners on the same let me know.
The reason I posted here and not Squier or Strat talk is I have never got an answer there ever. They ask why would you do that ? or start talking back and forth with there friends on your post and you read through four pages and see no answer. This is the best one I ever got though so thank you. I started playing in 1965 I have eighteen Strats Two are Squier now, all my Luthiers are dead or retired so I taught myself years ago. If I thought it was something else I would have asked something else. Split top tuners can't be wound wrong

Sorry 'bout the nickel part number, my bad - but the link for #0992040200 gold ones is behind one click on my linked page...

I'll have to disagree with you on "split top tuners can't be wound wrong"; in my experience any tuners can be misused. Heck, I've seen knots on locking tuners...

The internet wisdom tells us the CV tuners are Rotomatic 1248N - they used to have a decent customer service, so maybe email Rotomatic for their suggestions on upgrade tuners.
Or you could borrow a tuner for test fitting from your other Strats.

On the Q&A policy here & elsewhere, that's just how the net functions. Nobody can control what others reply, we all ramble on and on and on even though we mostly/occasionally try to help - and any answer must of course be handled with caution.
