I'm thinking of buying a Squire which I've seen advertised the serial number is
CMF18000158 I've tried to look it up on a few sites but I'm not sure what the CMF is telling me I know it's China but where or by whom and what year is it ,any ideas what it's worth
Cheers ......Pete

All Squier serials beginning with a C do not come from China; there was the CN (Cort; Nineties) period.

But I won't disagree with your CMF/China diagnose.
Would it make sense to guess the guitar is a 2018 model? That would fit the serial type;
CMF (I'm guessing the letters belong to a new subcontractor/production line/product series)
plus two first digits telling the year,
plus six digits for an individual serial number?

Anyways, the forum might help with the guitar ID, maybe even the value, if you'd give some more info. Remember; a serial number alone is no guarantee of anything.

FMIC-instruments from outside-USA seem to be made by several subcontractors - sometimes it seems FMIC/USA themselves aren't fully aware of what/where/when/how.
But you could check if they have any info on that serial - contact Fender Consumer Relations, email or the wonderful chat service (both via the support pages).
