I see that the "Hitmaker" no. 1/100 is for sale with Nile's signature on the back of the headstock for about 7k. I'm not normally a fan of replicas, but it seems to me that this guitar would always be worth at least that much, or am I missing the mark? Is there any reason it hasn't been purchased yet?

Nile is the man. I saw that listing. It's a very good price considering its history and all. Many dealers would double the price for that. You guys in the States really get lucky with your guitar deals.

I swear that pun came out by accident. It had to stay though.

That's a funny pun!

I asked a local guitar pro/collector, and he told me that I would likely "never" get my money out of that guitar. I still find it hard to believe, and I almost want to prove him wrong... but 7k is a lot of money to gamble with.

If you bought the guitar, stored it for 10 years unplayed, I don't think you'd have an issue selling the 1/100 signed/played by Nile Hitmaker for a tidy profit. I think these are the one area where profit can be made over time in guitar world nowadays.

My view on guitars as collectors pieces- just play em. I'd make it my no 1 if I was lucky enough to own it and I'd play it every day. Nile's music makes me so happy; I'm sure this guitar would do the same!

On second thought, I don't think it's the first model of the 100 that were made, it's just 1 out of 100 made. There's a used one that's like new (I don't know how you could even tell the difference once they're relic'd) for $3995. I'm sure pretty soon they will be available for a lot less. I guess it makes more sense to wait it out.

Niles is a fantastic guitar player and a genius on guitar hooks. I would love to have one of his signature guitars and hope his mojo rubs off on my playing fingers! :D

I've been watching similar "artist" series 2014 model CS stratocasters selling used for around the 2500-2800 dollar mark (Eric Clapton model). Any reason the "hitmaker" wouldn't eventually sell for the same? The cheapest I could find one used was $3700...

Is there anything more special about this model, or am I just being impatient?

Thanks!

Well I think it is limited edition so I cannot see the price dropping drastically.
Wonder why they went 9.5 radius when surely the original which had a 59 neck would have been std vintage.
I see the man himself recently spent time busking in a park in the UK but not many realised who it was! :D

Just returned from Cork Ireland - front row at the Chic concert. Probably the most humble guy in the world! God bless him... was so excited after the show that I ended up buying that used hitmaker on eBay. Will have it Monday.

Congrats to you! I'm sure that guitar will hold its value and or more than likely increase. Play and enjoy. Remember to save all the photos from the site.

I got the guitar yesterday, and it was kind of surreal to hold in my hands after wanting one for so long! Considering I'm not a fan of relic'd / replica guitars, this thing is nicer than I expected. It feels great to play, and the neck is thinner than I'm used to. To my surprise, it sounds very similar to the tele I'm playing (67 custom shop) when it's on the neck pick up. However, it seems to have a slightly rounder / fuller sound, but only slightly. Again, I'm a novice and never played a strat before so I'm sure it would be more noticeable to someone that was more experienced.

The only problem is I'm still a $@!&#* guitar player! I was hoping it would make me play as good as him :)
