I have been told if I order a custom shop guitar that is not in stock with my dealer, it could take 90 days to 6 months if the guitar is not in stock at the factory. It is a drag when you have to wait too long, but it is worth it.
I did cancell my order back in 2000 with Rickenbacker for the 360c/63 12 string guitar. I would be still waiting to get that guitar today. 7 years on a guitar to wait on is nuts. Fender is great in getting your guitar to you and the quality is excellent! :D

Depending on the model and options it could take anywhere from 90 days to 9 months. The Fender Custom Shop sales are going up every year,so they do tend to get overrun. Be patient, you don't want a rushed product...I've got 4 Custom Shop Jazz Basses, and they are well worth the wait.....believe me!! :D

I ordered a Masterbuilt copy of the CS 2007 calendar, October Rocket Stratocaster. I ordered it on late January 2007 and received it late August 2007. Dennis G. was so fast and the guitar IS incredible. Flawless.

On the other hand, I ordered a Masterbuilt Stratocaster with my on October 2005 and I STILL don't have it. I will withhold the name of the Masterbuilder as I am not interested in bashing.

The bottom line, dates are a crapshoot. Just be patient and think of something else. When you get it, it is like hitting the lottery.

If you order a masterbuilt then the times can be very long. I waited over a year for all of mine.
I was at my dealer on Monday and he said there's currently a 12-month wait for guitars built by Todd Krause - and I want him to do me another :(

Back in 1988 I ordered a Custom Shop Left Handed 1952 Tele and it took a little over a year before I got it. I still have the Lefty Tele to this day.[/url]

Stupid question here, but can I ask the Custom shop for specifics or just what they currently have lined up?

I ordered a Time Machine NOS strat with my own specs, so it's a one-off. The salesman told me it's going to take 9-10 months before my strat arrives.

Under 12 months, its cool, between 12-18 months thats within the range, over 18 months, either you asked for a One-Off or for a specific Masterbuilder, or both...

My strat is a one-off because I modified the specs from the Time Machine model. I was told 9-10 months for my one off and this was after he got the price quote from the custom shop. Anyway, if any of you are curious, here are the specs:

NOS Time Machine 1956 modified with Lightweight Ash ( bing cherry transparent), All Nitro- no WLS, no Undercoat, tinted neck10/56 neck with 9.5 radius 1-piece AA flame high gloss maple neck, Fat 50's custom shop single coil pups, offset seam, Nickel/Chrome vintage with vintage staggered tuners, single ply white pickgaurd, CS logo neck plate with serial number, S-1 Switching
