I have a rather specific list of specs for a guitar idea I've had, however I've given it some thought and most of the custom-ness would be from the neck only, and the real change to the body would be pickups.

Is it possible to order a neck only? If so what's the general price?

If it helps here is my idea (Very Malmsteen-esque)

Headstock Style: 50s Style

Material: Maple

Fretboard: Scalloped Maple

Neck Shape: Modern “C”

Finish: Nitrocellulose Lacquer

Frets: 21, Dunlop 6000 Super-Jumbo

Nut: Brass

Radius: 9.5”

Scale Length: 25.5”

String Tree: 80s Style (Tall, Slanted)

Truss Rod Adjuster Style: 50s Style

Bolt On: Yes, 4-Screw

Thanks

Not unless it is a replacement for a CS guitar, requiring lots of pics and proof that the guitar's a legit CS.

In your place I would ask Ken Warmoth for the specific neck you're looking for....

You're probably right.

I was looking for a custom fender neck to have something authentic but custom. Do you think a good luthier could reshape the neck and refinish to nitro? Otherwise warmoth or a 60s neck would be the only option.

If you want an authentic "Fender" neck, go to the parts sections and have a look at the replacement necks they offer. You'd need to weight the juice vs squeeze factor in the cost of having such a neck modified further and refinshed by someone who knows what they are doing. Price this against what Warmoth's cost would be. Warmoth will not affix a Fender logo to that neck. You'll have to go to the 'knock-off black market' if you feel you need the 'vibe'. A route frowned upon by many Fender aficionados. Let us know what you end up doing.

Doc
