Over the years Fender built replicas of Eric Clapton's famous axes, including Brownie, Blackie, the 1958 Jazzmaster from the Yardbirds era and the Strat necked Custom Telecaster EC played at Hyde Park with Blind Faith in 1969.

Off all those beauties only the iconic Dakota Red '63 Telecaster was not yet been released.

Personally I wanted seeing Eric cradling the Dakota Red '63 in his hands after a whole half of a century - even without the Vox AC30.

It was a basic out of the shelf Tele so why going for a specific EC one?
What happened to the original one ?

Saving the best 'til last; I wonder when they'll do a reproduction of the famous Purple Stratocaster used during his appearance on the legendary Chas 'n' Dave Christmas show :D

The purple Strat you're talking about was made by Roger Giffin - the man who was behind the lake placid blue guitar used for the slide repertoire during the Behind The Sun tour in 1985.

EC said it was owned by the band, it wasn't his. He only used it for a few months.

+1

Same case for the double-cutaway 6120 Country Gent, the '58 Jazzmaster and the Vox AC30.

So no one traced them afterwards ?

When did the CS release the Blind Faith Tele/strat neck?

I'm not sure I see the point in a Yardbirds Tele. It's a stock guitar. I could see the Fender CS doing a "Blind Faith" era Tele with Strat neck. That would be pretty cool.
