Quick question,

These guitars are getting heavily discounted both in the USA and here in the UK. I've just bought one, number 115 of 150, manufactured in August 2012. New Old stock hence the excellent value for money prices.

Can I ask was the first batch originally planned to be launched as a USA Select brand then rebranded as fenders Custom Shop? Mine has California Series sticker and Fender Acoustics COA quoting Fender USA Select Newporter.

Most of them on the USA websites clearly show the Custom Shop sticker and Custom Shop COA. However on musicradar website NAMM 2013 article clearly shows the California Series sticker.

The guitars available in the UK are clearly being sold as Fender Custom Shop guitars manufactured at the new facility at New Hartford.

Can anybody from the New Hartford facility respond, explain why different stickers and COA were used and reassure me that my guitar is part of the 150 Pro series Fender Custom Shop Newporter as per Fenders website.

Lastly,

How may guys work at the New Hartford facility and how many guitars do the complete per year. Reason why I'm asking that's 11x150=1300 Pro series and 6x15=90 Master designed total 1390 plus prototyping and celebrity one offs.

i.e. was there a 150 limited run for 2012, 2013 and 2014 etc etc of the same design? I hope not.

cheers

I've registered the guitar via the Fender Custom Sop section.

I think the whole facility in New Hartford was closed some months ago. That facility did originally produce Hamer and Ovation guitars and came to Fender when they bought Kaman's music line. Fender then also had their Gretsch guitars built there and in the end they used it for the new Fender CS acoustics. I guess since that factory closed the Fender CS acoustics get produced somewhere else.
