Anyone know of a dealer that might have a 1961 Fender Custom Shop Sonic Blue Stratocaster that has the spec's to the Bealtes Strat they used?

One of these should be right on the mark. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-American ... 41736ea19d

That looks exactly what I am looking for. I will start doing an internet check and see what dealer has one that is not damaged. Thank you for the information. :D

Very nice guitar you have. I will be at the winter Namm Show and I am sure the Fender booth will have a custom shop guitar I will want, like always. My go-to-guy for all my custom shop Fender guitars is Teddy from http://www.makenmusic.com

I played only CS guitars since the mid 90's after trying the new AVR series I don't see myself buying CS again, the AVR's I tested were as good and better than most CS I've had or played. IMHO if you want modern, or custom specs then look for a CS, if you want a guitar as close as you can get to going back to that specific year then the new AVRS is what you want. I prefer vintage specs 7.25 radius, smaller frets, so these are right up my alley.

I have quite a few custom shop guitars, which I love from Fender. I have heard nothing but positive feedback on the AVR's this past year. I guess I am a little late to jump on the band wagon to get one for the year 1959 in sonic blue. I haven't been able to locate a dealer who has that particular model and finish I want in stock.

I've seen several for sale new on Ebay, if you want a sonic blue 60's strat as close as to what the Beatles bought off the shelf, these are as close as you will get without spending $$$ for an original. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-American-Vintage-59-Strat-Faded-Sonic-Blue-0111600872-/161249554994?pt=Guitar&hash=item258b38f232

George painted his sonic blue '61 in a psychedelic finish to create "Rocky".

Rocky was used regularly onstage and in the studio after the band split in 1970.

Yes I know, but I am not into doing a dayglo paint job on a beautiful Strat. I am in no hurry to buy another Strat, until I see what will be available at the winter Namm Show. I'm just checking to see what is available, if I decide to buy another Fender for myself as a Christmas present and the 59 AVR Strat in sonic blue has my attention. :D

It's just a simple information about the story behind George's sonic blue '61, nothing else.

From my understanding you're looking for an exact representation of the guitar in its original form back in the day John and George purchased it from the store.

Bear in mind the former Beatles acquired their Strats in 1965 for studio use. Paul McCartney bought his sunburst '66 Jazz Bass in 1967.

Thank you for the info and I think I am going to wait and see what Namm has to offer at the Fender booth, before I decide to purchase another Fender. There is always something I will want. :D

It would be great if Fender got permission from Olivia Harrison and her son Dhani, to make a copy of George's Strat in sonic blue, team built, so it won't be so expensive. :D

It's a stock '61 sonic blue Stratocaster. Nothing special about it. I will say that the neck shape on each of these Strats would be different and the pups might have slightly different voicing, but overall, these would be stock guitars.
