Hi, new member here. I own a 2002 Custom Shop '60 NOS Strat that has been stored in its case for almost 12 years. The COA is dated 10/25/02 and the Serial No. is R13894. It was purchased from an East Coast dealer. I'd like to get the specs for this guitar as I cannot locate the original sales invoice. I have contacted the dealer and they informed me that their records do not go back that far.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Even quicker...give them a call at 800-856-9801. If you give the serial number of the guitar, one of the reps can look up the info you're looking for right then on the phone. He'll even send you a printout of all the vitals of the guitar. I've done it several times with great results every time.

Thanks for the assistance guys! I'll try the telephone call and get a copy of the spec sheet.

1. That is one of the primary questions I am trying to have answered. My memory is a bit rusty from late '02 but as I recall, the listing stated the color/mint green pickguard combo was unique.

2. Made contact with Fender this morning. They were courteous and prompt, but after nearly 10 minutes of searching the Fender Rep. regretted to inform me that the sheet which follows each guitar during the build process is blank for this serial number with regard to specs. He indicated that it was likely due to it being either a one-off or a prototype. Fender did accurately indicate which dealer the guitar was shipped to, but that doesn't help as I've already contacted the dealer who informed me that they have no records dating back that far. I have a hunch it was a special order by the dealer but I am puzzled/disappointed as to why Fender doesn't have the details for it.

It took a little persistence but finding a rep. who was interested in chasing things down got results. A few phone calls & emails later, its Shoreline Gold. The green from the surrounding grass is being soaked up by the guitar in the above photo. Its all '60 vintage specs.
