Are you 100% sure it's the original neck ?
I can't imagine that assumption..

Numbers on the neck match those on the body.

What assumption can't you imagine??

a swap somewhere...
When you touch the fretboard with your finger, you can feel the smoothness of the ebony I suppose, very different from the feel of rosewood whatever color it is . No ?

Very nice and cool looking guitar. Love the rosewood on it!

For once and for all, it's definitely rosewood, not ebony. If you look closely at the board, you can see the grain, not like you could with ebony. It's as the Fender rep and the build sheet said....dark colored rosewood. And, no, it doesn't feel smooth and oily, like ebony does. I have had guitars with ebony, I know what it feels like.
