Bought mine in 2004, it's made by Chris Fleming. Have no plans of ever selling it.

Proud owner of #4971 checking in... It's a Fleming, still mint. I'll post pics when I can. ;)

Just in case anyone was looking for another 50th Anniversary '54 Case, Dave's Guitar has a couple in right now. http://davesguitar.com/fender/50th-anni ... e-8725.asp

I was looking for one after our house fire this spring, but I found one online. Looks like more of these guitars are getting parted out as well.

That's a shame... It's kinda sick to see some of these people on eBay just gutting these guitars.

I tend to agree, though it does make the complete package a bit more rare. My set is no longer complete, and I'd like to refurbish it, which is why i was after the poodle case.

Ok, unusual question... My 54 has all 5 springs in it, with the trem plate flat to the body. Normal?

Just wanted to make sure... :o

Well it's up to your taste and to what string gauge you are using.

I'm aware it is up to me...

I just wanted to check to see if this was the original setup from the factory. I cannot remember if I've restrung/setup this Stratocaster before, as it is not a player, and I rarely take it out.

thanks for any help folks.[/quote]

Being sarcastic when a forum member of Alain's standing gives you advice isn't the right way to get help on this forum!

I haven't taken mine apart to check, but it is probably normal, though it sounds like it may need to be adjusted. Mine is still how it was setup out fo the box, with the exception , like I mentioned, that cases are gone, and I've had to get replacements (one poodle and one tweed).

Simply put: I don't care.

Second point of order, I wasn't being sarcastic, I simply am frustrated that there was a communications disconnect between us. Not his fault, not mine.

Third point: Is it strung flat to the body?

Ah... got it. It more than likely does need an adjustment... I'm going to try to see if I can find out what the original setup on these was way back in 54. Of course that may mean a wound G, but still... LOL

By the way, if anyone else is missing a poodle case, Dave's Guitar is selling one. :D
