Just a heads up for 50th 54' owners, anyone missing the 50th poodle case, there is one on ebay(not mine)right now, they don't come up often, so if you are missing one, here is your chance to make yours complete.

Interesting discussion about the American Vintage 60th Anniversary Strats.

I have a 2004 50th Anniversary American Series Strat. I've always was interested in the 50th Anniversary Masterbuilt 54 Strat but could never justify the price. So I was reading this thread and discovered the American Vintage 60th Anniversary Strats. I haven't been paying attention to what Fender is making lately.

Dang, this 2014 AV 60th Strat would nicely complement my 2004 AmSe 50th Strat.

Understood. Unfortunately, I was not in the market for that guitar 10 years ago. Had other priorities. :?

There is a 50th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster (Masterbuilt) offered in Norway now:

Quite expensive though (approx. 10.000 USD)...

Does anybody out there see that as an asking that particular model can command? Seems like wishful thinking to me. :?

I see prices listed on Ebay between $3000 to $7000, the only ones that sell on Ebay are in the $3000 range, so most of the higher priced ones are just fishing, and relist over and over. $10,000 for a 50th is just ridiculous IMO.

Hi anyone who is interested in Buying/ordering a John Cruz guitar. I just bought a NEW John Cruz 1960 strat and it came unplayable. You/I would think for $6400.00 that this guitar would be race ready, it is not. Now I have been talking to a Paul at Fender, and I have to now take guitar cross town and jump through more hoops to get this resolved. meanwhile after spending $6400 on a John Cruz guitar I still have no guitar. The issue is that the frets ends were rounded off too much and the High and low E falls off the ends. (most severly the high E) It is at Master Luthier, (Rauen guitars) right now, look him up in milwaukee, he was shocked that this is what I got for my money. He thought I bought it second hand and some hack did this. He said he has seen this before and he wont even deal with Fender, "It's too much hassle, and not worth it". So much for finally being able to buy a awsome guitar and have it a enjoyable experience. I'm not even sure if John Cruz made this guitar. (They maybe just slaped his name on it). anyway this sucks Buyer beware. I will keep you posted on this, here and other sites. Blessings
