Anyone have an idea how this new 60th anniversary 54' will compare to the 50th MB?
I'm thinking a less expensive version without all the details(correct plastic and so on).

Not CS MB for sure. American Vintage with following spec:
The 60th Anniversary American Vintage Strat has a two piece Ash body and three new 1954 single coil Stratocaster pickups deliver a singing voice true to that era. Five way pickup switching is complemented by an included optional three way switch for original wiring.

The body is finished with a side seam and a flash coat lacquer finish in the guitar's original two colour Sunburst. The guitar also features a single ply white pickguard and white polystyrene control knobs, bone nut and round string tree, American Vintage synchronized tremelo bridge with six "patent pending" saddles, vintage tuners and nickel-chrome hardware.

The one piece Maple neck has a smooth, comfortable 1954 profile and date stamp just below the truss rod adjustment nut, topped by a 7.25" radius fingerboard with rolled edges and 21 vintage frets.

Special extras include a vintage design single-stitch centre-pocket tweed case, replica polishing cloth, cable, black leather strap and bridge cover, extra tremelo springs (two), and reproduction 1954 paperwork. This guitar is only available during 2014 and is a limited edition model of 1,954 guitars.

regards

This US American Vintage 54 has the correct platics on just like the masterbuilt but not the stamped serial number on the back trem cover. Which is a little odd when Mike stated back in 2004 that they wouldnt be seen on another guitar again. These look great value , especially with a street price of £1550.

Interesting, I don't even see anything on the Fender US website yet, other than "AVAILABLE MARCH 2014".

The visual difference between these and the Masterbuilts is stunning. Look at the lacquer! The new 54 looks like a Squier in comparison :-)

Keeping within the Forum guidelines it would be best not to own up to an ad being yours. Better to cite that you've become aware that one is available.
