Sean,

Are you still adding MB 54 to your site ?

Here's #4056, by Greg Fessler.

Yes, I'm in the middle of redesigning the site for performance.

Every time I visit your site, it makes me want to find a second one of these(I would love to find an unplayed 54' like yours yvil, I would put that away as mine is getting quite played in, the neck is getting wear marks and it is looking more like a original 54') there are so many beautiful examples on there! great, great site you have created!

I was lucky that day. My dealer has already brought one in earlier this year, but it lacked some of the case candy and the COA, plus the previous owner wanted a bit too much. Couple of weeks later, this baby arrived, complete with all its case candy, COA and 2 cases. Couldn't resist ... :?

I've played it once or twice, but decided, although I love its sound and looks, that I would preserve it in its case. I have this other "baby" to play with, which is nice too, but has a different character:

Regarding your desire to get a brand new one, I know it's not really the same, but I've found this one:

Right at the moment I don't have the $$ for a second one, but as my 54' is the best playing/sounding guitar I have ever had, my plan is to play it all the time, it's ok that it is naturally aging. Some day if the right piece becomes available, and I have the $$ I would like one to put away, right now I do have a CS 56' but do not play it near as much as the 54'.

I wonder how many owners have changed to the five-way switch on these? Mine is still the original three way. It's the only Strat I own that is still wired this way! :)

Imagemine is my main player, so adding the 5 way switch was the 1st thing I did, if it was brand new when I got it, it may have changed my mind.the only other changes were adding 5 Raw vintage tremolo springs, this I would add to any strat I own(they really do as claimed IMHO)and a Luxe capacitor(just to add a cool vintage touch).

Hi Sean,

I've finally come around and taken a few shots of my 50th Anni Strat Nefertiti (which means the Beautiful One Has Come) and would like to contribute to your site. The serial number is 5716, made by Yuriy Shiskov. It weighs 3.50 kg (7.7 lbs). It's not a case queen and have been played a lot over the years (and refretted with "modern" frets). It has its dings and chips but it is a fantastic guitar.

Kind regards,

Ulf from Sweden

My favourite store in the UK, Coda Music, has a second-hand Fessler for sale.

A year ago August, while staying with family, I visited the offices of Fretted Americana in Calabasas, CA. I had the opportunity to audition an original '57 in, what I would say was, 8-9/10 condition. The price tag was, if memory serves, $40K+. Chump change for some on this planet I know.

Now I've often observed, in these discussions, the time worn belief in
"Different strokes for different strokes''. So if any of you hope to realize a gain by hiding one of these 'virgin' Strat reproductions under you bed and 'forgetting about it' for a few years, may you 'live long and prosper'.

I would like to have a 2nd one to put away, but not so much as an investment, but more as a backup, as these won't be made again, and mine is hands down the best strat I've played at any $$$ or vintage, and most of the other 54' MB's I've played were also excellent IMHO.

Gallery 1954 has officially been refreshed. Feedback welcome. Additional pictures and info also welcome. I'm considering expanding the scope to include any real 1954s (or '53s :)), as well as any FCS '54s from previous runs, and maybe even the 40th Anniversary editions.

Now where is my coffee...
