Hello All,

I think it would be fun to see who is lurking here that has one (or more) of the 2004 Custom Shop Masterbuilt 1954 Stratocasters.

Also, if any own from the FCS is reading, is there any way to find out exactly how many of these were built? Even a ball park figure would be nice to know, considering these were a "limited edition"...

Good Question. Would like to know that as well. Count me as an owner of one '54 50th anniversary Masterbuilt Stratocaster. #5429. Who else?

Hey Sean,

Looks like there were at least 153 made if consecutive serial numbers were issued by Fender Custom Shop. That's the difference between mine and yours. I'm no Einstein, but that's a start...

Hi all,

Just checking in with my guitar - serial number 5738.

By the way - is the pickup cover ashtray supposed to be included??

I didint get one with mine, so if it is - then I'm off to the dealer tomorrow!!

I have sent some pictures here twice now, but they dont get posted.

Maybe you dont accept posts from outside the USA??

Anyway - I'll try again just after this reply.

Just my two cents worth: -

I beleive that the Squire String company was bought by Fender some time ago.

They have since used the Squire name to market a range of lower priced guitars for those not fortunate enough to afford a real Fender.

I must say however that a well setup Squire will play better than a sloppy setup Fender.

Actually, I've been able to track down about 300+ different serial numbers for these guitars. The Serial Numbers start at 4000, and go into the 6000 range. These numbers do seem sequential for the most part, and I'd love to get a confirmation from FCS on that point, for the history books...

Stunning guitars gentlemen!
What is the difference between your guitars and the 50th American Deluxe with the gold hardware, S1 switching and 50th anniversary case?

The Fender Custom Shop 50th Anniversary model is essentially identical to the original 1954 Stratocaster specifications. So in laymans' terms, vintage styling with Kluson style tuning pegs, 7.25 radius one piece maple neck, vintage pickups, and "tremolo" bridge. This model also came with both a modren case and a vintage style "poodle" case.
