I just got a MakenMusic 40th Anniversary 1973 Fender Custom Shop MVP Strat the other day and this guitar rocks with all the upgrades it came with. Teddy always takes good care of me and puts some cool swag in the guitar case for me. www.makenmusic.com
Check out these limited edition custom shop guitars that Teddy had the Fender Custom Shop make. These guitars are worth every penny! :D

How about posting a picture of your guitar, not a link to the website.

You are using a computer or cell phone, right? That's about as digital as it gets.

Your picture must be on a publicly accessible site such as PhotoBucket. Once uploaded to the picture site, simply copy the "IMG" link and paste into your post here.

The link that you posted to the website has many guitars, are we supposed to guess which one is yours?

Possibly this one?

I like but the negatives for me are the false relicing particularly on the headstock and I am not that keen on the U neck shape. Each to their own of course and I bet it is a great player.
The S1 is a nice touch as well! :D

I don't like the mix of vintage features. A 1969/1973? Weird mutant hybrid.

But it's probably a great playing and great sounding guitar.

That is the guitar, but with the dark rosewood neck. I love the U shape necks, since I have several Strats I bought new in the early 70's. This guitar is a great player and I like the early 70's Strats with the big headstocks on them. This is a one time edition that MakenMusic had the custom shop build for their 40th anniversary. So when these guitars are sold, which I think maybe 2 are left, that is it. Clapton's "Blackie" was a hybrid of different guitar parts, so I guess his was a mutant also. I am in good company! :D

Ah so this one is yours?
Nicer relicing on the headstock.
I am a fan of the large headstock but some do not like it.

Congrats!

Yes that is the one I got and thank you for liking the big headstock on it. I am very pleased with this guitar. :D

Real early 70's didn't have a U though, I have 2 71's and they have more of the 59 D than a U.

My early 70's Strats have the same feel and neck as my new guitar has. I didn't measure the necks, just the feel in my hands. :D

I see the '69 vibe, but what about this guitar makes is a '73?

Also, I own/ or have owned a '75, '76, '77 (2ea) and '79. The necks are all different.

The two '77s and '79 have pretty round, but small necks (especially around the first 3 frets).
The '75's neck is similiar to the '77's, but not as slim.

The '76 has a really thick round neck. I guess this the "U" shape everyone is always talking about.

Adjustment rod at the headstock for the 70's. The 69 I have is down at the end of the fret board instead of the headstock. My Strats are before 1974. :D
