If Fender does a Hendrix tribute, don't forget us leftys! A left-handed with reverse head! Awesome!

Hi all!

I have a 1969 NOS Time Machine Strat in White with the Maple neck, just like Hendrix's Woodstock Strat! I had to have one like his and this was the closed thing I could get!! I call it the White one like Jimi cause you can't really call it anything else! It is a beautiful guitar and I play it hard through a 100W Stack. I gig with it 3-4 times per week I have been through about 10-15 Trem arms now in 19 mths, I am losing count, they just break or bend, they make great give aways! The Guitar cost me nearly my arm and Leg though!! A little dear as a main work horse, It would be great to see a more affordable option and constant Jimi Hendrix tribute model, like The SRV that is in production, it would be great to see the legendary Hendrix name there too! After all he influenced the majority of the players that have signature models! I dig the '69 pick ups! They sound so good! They would have to be in a Hendrix model! They make the guitar sound like his! So Close! I do remember seeing a USA Left handed Hendrix Strat in around 2000-2002 it had even the writing on the headstock backwards so if you stood in front of a mirror, it would look like you were left handed and the guitar right handed!! They played well too! I sort of remember them being around the same dollars as a USA deluxe Strat, be good even if they made a come back!

no no no.
If there was a hendrix tribute, there'd be both right and left handed ones.
just sell the lefty ones to the righty's, and the right handed guitars to the lefty's.

then just turn it upside down and VIOLA.

I have a Monterey Pop, but darn...it about broke me. You are right, something affordable, custom, and Jimi. the closest thing to a JIMI tribute right now that Fender offers (thanks to John Mayer) is the Reverse Proto...I talked to my Fender rep...5k. Too much. great strat though.

Lucky you!

If FMIC would ever consider doing again an Hendrix related Strat, don't forget that the Jimi Hendrix Estate may be very, very greedy. I won't come into more details on a friendly FMIC owned Forum-neither on another.-.

I have heard rumors before that the "Hendrix Estate" was the reason that the voodoo strat had a such a short run. I would love to see something like this again.

I did finally break down and get a MIM 60's Reverse Strat, probably the closest thing that I will own to the voodoo or at least it will be with a pickup mod.

Lets be truthful Janie L. Hendrix would be the issue. Not some faceless corporation. I wonder what Jimi would think?

I read a biography on Hendrix written by a close friend of his.
His parents never supported him.

and when he went back to visit his dad in '69,
his dad said
"so when are you going to start writing a will?"

Ouch.

Well after the Gibson fiasco I do not see the Hendri estate and Fender ever working again in the near future if at all. To me the Monteray should have had an artist series run for about a year along with Claptons Crash as they were both beautiful axes. I had no problem with the limited custom shop runs, but they could of did artist series specials on both so a lot of others could of gotten in on such great axes. Just like Mayer has his artist series and now there going to offer 83 custom shop pieces but also an artist run for less money. That is what should of been done with the Monterey and Crash guitars.

Just for the record, I walked around the entire facility on Thursday, and I can verify without a doubt, that everybody at Fender has a face. Even that girl in finance who keeps sending me the emails about my expense reports.

you had to check though

I walked around the legal department where I work the other day, and whilst the majority of the staff there had faces, I couldn't verify if they had asses, as they all have some kind of umbrella / shield thing over their backs.

Yeah, I can't check for that here...we have policies and stuff. There are some obvious examples though...

Ah Mike, when you balance the account does she put the kettle on a break out the cake? You need to explain it to the acountancy dept', that they cant hound an artist without rewarding them at the end.

Personaly after seeing this latest digraceful fiasco out of jani hendericks, I wouldnt lower myself to ever dealing with her again if i were a honcho at FMIC. I just couldnt lower myself to dealing with someone who drags the name of their distant relative (never met) hero through the gutter in a get rich quick scheme, thought up by donald and mickey.

Well apparently we have such policies too, but it's ok, because I'm allowed 3 written warnings before they can fire me. Next time I'll wear shades
