Let me begin with the fact that the body looks just like the Allparts body I bought years ago. The back of the neck logo doesn't look right as well as the routes for the electronics. The things that throwing me off is the certificate. I feel like this is one of those guitars that we're going to see on the forum under, "Is my CS Tele a fake?" somewhere down the line.

Any takers as to this...guitar's origin?

It's John Page's signature on the COA, and the etched CS logo on the back of the headstock is right for that period. Solid rosewood neck...unlikely that's a fake.
I would say it is all genuine, and probably rather nice.

Probably genuine and the vendor has the cert and can provide further photos.
They have good feedback, invite inspection, give details of original purchase and suggest fender verification.
It is not the first of these from this era I have seen so another plus.

The dates are a year apart so either it was another series or they took a long time getting them out.....
If it were me I'd prefer someting like the 40th anni :D

I don't recall the CS ever using this style of logo pressed into the wood. I find this guitar very suspect. The COA could have come from a different guitar and then another is built fit to that standard. Guitar like that could be built for under $1K.

Well Paris anything is possible.
I just think at face value the odds stack up for the vendor.
I presume you followed my link and saw the rosewood tele of the same vintage with a similar but not identical logo stamped into the wood.
The guitar would have to be disassembled for complete verification.
Its not my bag anyway as mentioned. :D

I don't see anything that would lead me to say that the guitar you are talking about is suspect or fake, it looks completely legit to me. The pressed logos were common in the early days, do a google search of pressed Fender Custom Shop logo and you'll see many of them.
