Your concurrence refutes a signficant part of your original position, developed from a place which, I strongly believe, you were not fully informed, not withstanding your representations. There are likely a clutch of idiots in that board room. Of course, the blowback for them will have absolutely nothing to do with the opinion of the faithful, unless the faithful vote with their feet, because the bottom line is all that really matters to the money. Those of us who care are hoping that we are not looking at another CBS era for Fender.

As for Mike Eldred, well, with a piece of a Disney soundtrack under his belt and more, given what the band's Facebook page has had to say, I have a good feeling about this. In my life's experience, a bad ending can be a great beginning. 8) 8) 8)

Indeed. I hope only for the best for Mike. A real shame I never got to order a bass under his watch. However, I may just end up picking up a used model instead now. Kind of a bummer as I was really looking forward to having one made FOR me, but what can you do? I really dig their version of "Burnin' Love", too. Good stuff.

Does his bassist still play that 57 P bass? Man, that thing had killer tone. Not that I'm biased. I found a fan vid of them doing Mystery Train on Youtube. Totally smokin'.

This is exactly the point I've been trying to get across.

I GET your point. MY point is that, given Fender's track record with CBS, it took the faith and confidence of some of the originators, people who were there at the beginning of it all, to raise the company out of the ashes afterwards. One wonders if there remains that kind of dedication among investors and venture capitalists for whom the bottom line is the only reason to be 'in it'. Still a work in progress all around.

If you have a Facebook page, not yet following the band and having them included in your 'interest' grouping, doing so may answer many of your questions. Also consider purchasing their first CD if you have not already. It's a killer. 8)

I do. I made sure to like their fb with both my personal page and the band's page. I'll be sure to pick up that first cd. Is it available in digital? Or more importantly. Is it available on vinyl?

Great! Regret...No info on any other format but CD. Put the question to them.

If money is the only reason these investors and venture capitalists are in it, then I feel sorry for the whole outfit, because they all with the entire company will surely fail. This is the exact same thing that happened with CBS, they didn't care anything about quality and the customer, just money, money, money.

All I can say is that I hope only the best for Fender, and hopefully there are at least two or three people that care about Fender as much as we do and can make a difference.

There's a sure bet on that.

That appears to be a well turned point of view.
