Agree. However, with respect to the direction of my thoughts, its more along the lines of how Lee Iaccoca turned Chrysler Corporation around. I'm sure there's a place in the industry for him if he wants it.

I join the others in sending a HUGE THANK YOU to ME for taking his time to share his knowledge and for giving us a direct line of communication to him here on the Forums. I also wish ME the best in his new endeavors. He will be sorely missed.

Yes.... Thank You Mike for your replies to my own questions...
Always well thought out.

As for leaving this Forum as some have suggested.... I disagree, I am definitely not in the loop of FMIC and it's interactions with it's employee's.
I do believe it is an ill conceived decision, but then if everyone who contributes valuably to this Forum leaves.... What would be the point, we wouldn't change current events but instead lower the content of this Forum....

My thoughts of course but before hasty departures, some reflection should be exercised... :? :?:

Your point is well taken. It's easy to understand how and why many of us are 'bummed' by this development. Mike would want the show to go on.

Yes, it's always important to tension the strings after changing to a new set.

Mike Eldred is only one of appearently many Fender employees around the world who had to leave. Investors are starting to squeeze Fender wanting to increase profit irrespective of the damages they'll cause.

DO NOT FORGET WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE "CBS" ERA!!

When Sony purchased Columbia Records they closed up their entire East Coast operation. My friend, who was a recording engineer, lost his position of nearly 18 years due to seniority. If FMIC wants to play that game again, we the faithful will know when the quality has turned. By acquiring so many of their competitors, they may have become too bloated to be profitable.

I just saw Mike at the Namm Show at the custom shop booth. Does he not work for Fender anymore or is it, he just isn't posting on this forum?

He's separated from FMIC. The decision likely came down on/about Feb 6.

He's just one of us now and I think he'll be fine.
