Great service with Doug at Wildwest, give him/them a try/buy:

Nice fat QS neck, sort for lightweight body, dark neck, 60's pups...

Very nice!!! I notice there putting a couple new items in the case candy now, looks like a yellow custom shop logo polishing cloth but what is the black item in the plastic bag? Been wondering about those new items for a while now, congrats on the guitar and let us know how she plays and sounds.

Cheers

Possibly could be the tool kit that Fender includes with some of their custom shop guitars. I got one of those when I purchased my MVP series Custom Shop Strat from MakenMusic 2 months ago, along with the new polishing cloth. Very cool kit to have. :D

Came with Cruz Tools and though I haven't opened cloth, it has FCS logo and looks much larger and thicker than standard Fender Yellow cloth. Also has a better FCS strap than the last one got with my FCS, etc.

The case compartment can barely snap close to hold all the accessories. I hope this has become a new standard for included FCS accessories. Another nice touch might be, register your new FCS guitar online and drop down menu at end ask you for your t shirt size and you get free FCS t shirt mailed to you.

Guitar sounds great, FCS 60's are also my fav Fender pups and I didnt need to take to my tech, factory setup was perfect and or maybe Wild West tech checks guitar before displaying.

Though I have many Strats, I now have my favorite two heavy relic colors with quartersawm RW necks; Candy Tangerine and Shell Pink.

If it sounds great, I wouldn't hold the fake-looking relic against it too much.

It's a generational preference, I suppose. I'm from a time when we took the utmost care to keep our gear from becoming 'road worn'. It's interesting that one certainly doesn't see that sort in the collectable vintage automobile market. The restoration to 'new' is the goal.

Yes, generational I suppose, as is buying new jeans with holes...., which I do. Relic looks right to me on a Fender Strat, though i enjoy my EJ, EC and JB Strats "as new", I prefer relics on looks, feel and not fretting about accidental bumps and bruises I add to it.

In regards to "fake" looking, not sure anything is unrealistic looking after seeing Sayce's #1 and SRV #1, if one never knew of those two guitars before today, some might say they're
horrible fake relics.

It's a old forum board debate on relics, so old, if the topic had looks, it would like SRV's or Sayce's guitar....beat to death.

It looks quite authentic to me. A real work of art.
