Hello from New Hampshire. Just wondering if the Custom Shop varies the shape of the peghead end of the rosewood board on the slab board Stratocaster/Telecaster models from more or less curved to straight across on purpose to replicate what went on in the original slab board era. I personally have never seen a straight across slab end on a vintage guitar, but I have certainly not seen them all. On the other hand,I have seen quite a few high resolution, perfect angle pictures of Stratocasters and Jazzmasters from the late 50s through 61 that (seemingly) pretty undeniably have a straight across slab end at the peghead. Some of these are "group pictures" with other guitars that have the curve, making things even more obvious. I wonder if the Custom Shop varies the slab ends in the same spirit as they, on occasion sub a maple plug on the peg head of a Nocaster (as was done in the 50s). Thanks for any input you might have re my trivia quest.
