Hi everyone. I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on something that's been bugging me for some time.

Back in 2007 on a trip to my local guitar store in the UK, a substantially reduced CS Strat was hanging on the wall. It was listed as a 65 NOS, RW board, Candy apple red and although it was "new", it had been marked down as it was shop soiled/slight damage + the store could not locate the COA and associated case candy.

The neck is maple with a RW board and although the back of the headstock displays the CS logo, I cannot locate what I think is a "correct" Serial number. The neck plate is plain chrome & is literally engraved with "CC113" then "Custom Shop Classic Collection".

It has a 3 ply w/b/w 11 screw scratchplate, 5-way selector switch, vintage style bridge saddles/trem. The body finish does not appear to be a heavy poly finish - Of late I have noticed some slight cracks in the finish as opposed to scratches & a slightly darker patch on the lower forearm body where my arm would have rested and sweated - I'm assuming that the sweat has started to tarnish the finish which would lead me to believe that it's not a regular "heavy" poly finish used on the standard MIA Strats.

Finally (phew, sorry guys), I registered the guitar with the Fender CS Care programme and there was no push back from them.

Does anyone have any info that thy can shed on this guitar ie age etc? Much appreciated!!!

First port of call would be an email to consumerrelations@fender.com send them the details.
Just guessin here so probably not much help.
Possibly a special run for a UK distributor.
The serial is as you read it. The USA ones are more recently CN or CZ or R but there are other prefixes.
If you take the neck off it should have a date stamp which is probably around 2000 or prior.
Be careful doing this to avoid damaging or chipping the finish etc.
If you are lucky maybe Rob might see this and chime in. :D
