Hi guys ! I'm new to the forum so it's probably best first to introduce myself :) I'm David,a medicine student and a great Strat enthusiast. When I'm not studying (and I study a lot, I mean a LOT) you can usually find me with my strat (which I really, really love, it's an Am Std 2009 blackie) jamming on some( T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, BB, Albert King, Clapton...just to mention a few :D ) songs and backings. I really like blues as you can see and I'm never tired of listening to it, I enjoy it even more since I bought my first(and my current) strat, although Ibanez was pretty good but lacked a character the strat has in plenty. Ibanez was kinda...neutral. So,that's something about me, now to the question... I'm interested in buying Fender 2004 50th Anniversary Masterbuilt 54' Stratocaster the guy in my area is selling, and guitar is really nice (it's masterbuilt, of course it's nice), he'll let her go for around 3200$, so i considered buying it since I collected some money. The point is, i can't tell which masterbuilder built it so I thought you guys can help me. I have been trying to find that signature, but i had no luck, I even searched for signature of every Masterbuilder I could find. So here's the picture and tell me what you think.

Thanks in advance !

David

It looks to me like (Dennis Galuszka), but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, I first thought its him, but his signature is totally diferent. Just google it you'll see, that's why I made this post, because I couldn't find anything that looked like that signature. Thanks for replay, and sorry for my english :D

It would appear to be Dennis, but as you say, it is not exactly like his signature...or his current signature, perhaps. That was built nine years ago, and it is possible that his signature has altered slightly on newer decals.
However, his signature will also be on the Certificate of Authenticity, and you should check that the signatures match. If you can't see the Certificate, or it is missing, then I would be a little cautious.
If you can get the serial number, stamped on the trem cover, and mail consumerrelations@fender.com they should be able to say if it is genuine or not.

Thanks, I will ask for a photo of certificate and serial number, I just thought someone would have an idea whoose signature it should be, though i know a lot about strats, i don't consider myself an expert. I guess I should check serial ,it should be obvious if the guitar is original or not.

Here is a pic from a different '54 Anniversary, built by Dennis, and which shows his signature on the rear of the headstock.

I have 54' mb built by Dennis, and that is his signature as of 2004 when these were built, so have no hesitation on that part.(super guitars IMHO)

dear friend
ive got two things to point at u
1) yes its Dennis G. sig (one of the sigs he uses), i used to have a 54 Shishkov masterbuilt (too late to be sorry for letting her go...as i THOUGHT had trouble with the small vintage frets) and it was a black clear letter signature, different that Yuriys usually use...u know the fast glued together letters.....its STILL THOSE GUYS BEHIND THE DIFFERENT SIGNATURES....so no worries here..
2) If u r ok with the vintage (7.25 radius - vintage frets) specs - and believe me even if u r not this instrument deserves even a immediately 6105 refreting cost - go ahead and buy it .this guitar has nothing or little to do with the classic 60s strat sound...its actually the fatest sound any strat has ever had....close to a mellow humbucker - even acoustically it rings like a HUGE BELL
like i said before i had for a small period of time a yuriy shishkov 54 masterbuilt 50th anniversary strat and i THOUGHT i had bending problems cause of the vintage specs...bullshit (sorry for the language) ....i used to own n play many custom shop strats with modern specs and i got used to thin or thin to medium necks - 9.5 radius and 6105 frets.....and i couldnt wait to adapt...now im crying as they got really expensive and i cant afford one 54 mb again
u havent heard anything like this
a REAL MOJO GUITAR
don't loose any time on signatures
yes, every masterbuilder has its own style but this is a very special run guitar and all the masterbuilders involved (except very very small differences) kept the style visually and soundwise theyre the same .....FANTASTIC instruments
Colourwise, i dont think that any other custom shop replica can compete (with the exception of the nocaster relic 51) u have to see it to believe it...

be the happy owner and youllnot regret it

(yo Fender Custom Shop.... isnt it time for u to offer me a job....i dont believe u ve got a better fan n ambassador in South Europe :) )
