Well the Mercedes Blue does that.....can look green.
That guitar is not Mercedes Blue, though.

Or it's probably a Midnight Blue Strat from the late 1990s which had the pickups changed. I've seen Eric playing this guitar for the first time in 1997.

Apparently Eric told Todd to swap the Lace Sensors for a set of VNs and remove the TBX pot.

Here's a photo of him with that Midnight Blue Strat dating from late summer 2008, hope you'll find this interesting.

Would have to be another. That guitar went at auction.

I have a Midnight Blue btw.

It is metal flake and this one looks like a plain paint.

Don't hold your breath about the red.....just as unlikely as 7-Up green coming back :-).
Those are both Big 80's gaudy.

Right, sorry didn't mean to imply it was "moi".

Okay, I am wasting time on Thanksgiving here doing freeze frames.
The guitar he is using in Better in a Little While is a metal flake!!!
I was wrong in my previous posts.
Anyway, I think he did have a "new blue" a while back, not Mercedes, not Midnight.
I seemed to see it in his rack in 2004 and talked to Lee briefly.
I have a pic of the guitar rack somewhere and I will try to post it.

Then it's probably another exclusive custom paintjob commissioned by Eric to match one of his cars.

I recalled the CS did a Taos Turquoise EC Custom in the late 1980s. They also did a Mystic Black JB Custom a couple of years later.

The two former Yardbirds unauthorized those finishes.

The more I look, it seems to be a dark grey metallic with blue lighting.

In the upper pic that Rock Star posted, the mic stand and cables also look bluish.
So there was some blue light involved in creating an illusion?

Better solution is to ask Todd for this specific finish.

Yes, perhaps the Ask Mike Forum.
That is what I was thinking.

This forum is closed, Mike has more important businesses to do than spending his time to reply to our questions.

Why not sending a PM to Rob?

Clearly we need Jack Bauer and Chloe on this site. Only Chloe could get the answers we want.
"Chloe, I need a full analysis of the images from Crossroads 2013. That paint job on the group leader Eric's Strat! And I need the results uploaded to my PDA."
"Ok but it'll take about an hour to run it through the paint analysis routine."
"Damn it, Chloe, I need it in five minutes!"
"Ok, Jack, I'm on it............................ It's done, uploading now."
