No, certainly not.

To calm your doubts I'll post a couple of photos from the Croasroads 2013 concert.

Never mind one particular freeze-frame shot which could be from any time during the concert, or where the grey could look black, just watch the (Got To Get Better) video posted by ECSTRATOCASTER. THAT guitar is not black, and if you think it is then ... SPECSAVERS.COM

Apparently Clapton had his own reasons to use a regular 100-feet cord in place of his Samson wireless pack on that stage and have two different amps (the dumble overdrive special and the tweed vibrochamp) to drive his Leslie cabinet....

Apparently......

Not too shabby a gig, mate.
Must be the reason why he's not played a red Stratocaster for years. I expect Chromeface to post a pic of him with the Gibby...but that was NOT the intent of my comment.

Clapton used two Strats during the shows, each with a different colour: grigio grey and blackie.

The blackie came as a replacement for the daphne blue which was retired from active service in November 2011 after nearly two years of touring.

Must be the reason why he shelved the red Stratocaster. Now I expect Chromeface to post a pic of Eric with the Gibby. That was NOT the intent of my comment.

My not being Chromeface, and Strats not being Gibsons...

Which model from Gibson? Eric used various Gibsons over the years: from the cherrry red '64 ES335 to the korina '58 cutoff Explorer!

Please be more specific before posting a comment!

Unless you're talking about the fat hollowbody jazz box he used for the Taj Mahal stuff (Further on down the road) or the sunburst 335 which served as a backup to the EC Grey (closing solo of Little Queen of Spades and Cocaine).

Read back a post or two. I'm talking colors, red for the talking point, at the moment. Choice of guitar is yours.

Well, Eric no longer uses the cherry red '64 ES335… sold for an auction long years ago!

This picture dates from mid-to-late 1995.

During a blues performance (The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA, September 13, 1995) he grab a cardinal red Firebird VI from a fan which was pleasantly surprised seeing him playing it.

I think we are getting somewhere with this thread.
If you do a freeze frame at the beginning of Gin House.
You can see the handoff from the guitar tech, no longer Lee :-( .
The guitar he is handed has a capo on it, which he removes.
When the guitars are next to each other during the hand off, they are clearly
different colors. He hands off the grey and uses the "other" for the rest of the show.

You can see in the pic posted above, the guitar is dark.....either black with weird lighting,
or something new...something old? I agree with Elliot that it is not Black.

So the upper pic posted by Rock Star is what color....see the apparent bluish?
But it is not metal flake, so it probably is not blue?
