It has to do with familiarizing yourself with something first before you commit.

Now I get it

My past job description included jumping out of airplanes with heavy automatic weapons. So I'm daring 8)

Now take a look at my post about stripping my CS and let me know your thoughts.

You purchased a what appears to be an Olympic White guitar with a relic finish and you want to strip it to what purpose? P.S. I'm not orgasmic about relic finishes as current player populations seems to be.

So since seeing one back around 2000, I have always lusted after one of the 210 Monterey Pop Strats. Over the years I have found two for sale, most recently last month here in Mass, but do not think the wife would understand the 17k expenditure. Therefore, my thought was to buy a strat strip it down and have it painted up like Pamelina's. Heck I may even send it to her to paint it for me (she cannot do an exact copy but close).

And as I didn't want to invest the time and money into my MIM strat I figured why not pick up a CS to use as a canvas. So, in a nutshell that's what I was thinking.

Am I crazy?

I've always admired her work. You'll get the 'vibe' of that guitar. Of course, not a repro of the original. Save yourself the grief and aggravation of stripping the guitar. Get a quote for her to strip and refinish. She might prefer to do it herself using something compatible with the paints she uses.

Spoke with her today that looks to be the right direction. Leave the striping to the pros :)

Had a look at her Facebook page. Lot's different than what I assume is a now defunct website. Haven't been there in a month of Sunday's. Looking forward to see how it turns out.
