I just bought a 59 LTD relic with John Cruz fat50s Pus. At least that is what they were advertised as.
When I opened the guitar today and found this:

So my question is:
The Floor traveller says they are 'JC Fat50s'. (It does not mention the reverse middle PU.)
Does the JC stand for John Cruz or Josefina Campos?
If she signs the PUs, does that mean they are handwound by her?

They sure sound great, but I think this is confusing for the customer as it is (obviously) for the dealers.

Thanks!

Josefina replaced Abby when the latter retired.
If she uses the same protocol as Abby if she signs the pups they are handmade by her; if she initials the pups she is supervising their making.
Is it a Masterbuilt guitar by John Cruz ?
what the COA says ?
You bought it new or second hand ?
" At least that is what they were advertised as." An ad from Fender or from the shop ?

It's a brand new 59 Relic LTD 2013 run for Fender Germany. Those are Teambuilt.
I have a copy of the Floor Shop Traveller. Spec says: Strat JC Fat50s
The dealer (and others) I bought it from described them as John Cruz Fat 50s.
What does COA stand for?
Thanks!

JC stands for Josefina Campos.

I'm quite certain she had wound those pickups.

I did just shoot customer relations a mail with the serial and asking them to clear things up.
Also wrote John Cruz a PM on Facebook.
Now let's wait....

If Josefina Campos winds the John Cruz pickups, will they be "Double JC?" :)

The hoax is actually pretty close...
It looks like one of them has to change their name to avoid further confusion.

I'd rather prefer a Double JD...

The clarification of this will be of benefit to all going forward.

OK guys, Fender got back to me, so I can say that JC does definitly stand for John Cruz and not Josefina Campos.

They were hand-wound (instead of machine-wound) to the LTD/Master Design specs (in this case by Josefina Campos) and have a black cloth around the wire but not the metal shielding, which mine do.

John Cruz confirmed this himself...
