Dear Friends
just received a new fender 52 closet classic tele with 51 nocasters, 9.5 radius, 6105 frets, large "c" neck shape, real lightweight ash body etc
I have to say a BIG bravo at fender custom shop guys
for being so great at what they do
no issues with this babe, unbelievable resonance and sound, straight out of the box
my only concern , and need anyones opinion about is that ....
i seem to play more difficult than my 60s nos strat with the usuall c neck shape
the overall feel is a little bit sticky too
i can't figure out if this is because of my adaptation to large c, or the factory set up, or even the (small but able to feel) sticky lacquer of the neck
maybe its the three reasons all together
i decided to try make this babe a keeper because of her overall light weight, resonance and warmth to the sound

what do u think?

(i also have to admit that a 51 nocaster relic i used to have was easier to play despite the chunky u shape neck....maybe its the bigger shoulders of the large c shape that i have to get over here...)

Maybe it just needs to be broken in?

+1. Always had that experience with a brand new guitar.

A sticky neck is just usually the newness of the nitro lacquer, and this will improve with more playing. There are lots of "cures" for this on various guitar forums, but I find that regular rubbing with a microfibre cloth helps.
The other thing is, if you are used to playing on vintage sized frets, the 6105s can feel very different, and slower, until you get used to their size. Once again. more playing is the solution.
