Well, it looks like I am finally in the home stretch, I should after almost 3 years have something to show you guys within the next couple of weeks, yay!

I once dated a woman who told me practically the same thing, though worded a tad differently. Hope your guitar turns up better than she did.

Nice Doc, lol

No prob-lem, mon. A little humor to while away the home stretch. Of course, one can always cheer up singing that appropriate little ditty.....

Well I owe you guys one TK MB, after all this time, here it is, finally done and shortly to be in my hands:

Fender Masterbuilt by Todd Krause for me :D

Based on a 1967 Stratocaster, so the body cut, hardware (specially plated for this guitar), label (though made in a special color for this guitar), headstock shape.

Completely (or as completely as is possible) blacked out.

Ebony board - no face markers, 7.25 radius, 6105 frets, 1 5/8 nut, neck shape based on the specs of my 71

Neck-on toggle

One of Abby's last handwound 69's sets

Now, I know this will not be everybody's cup of tea, but it isn't supposed to be, it's MY cup of tea :D, So keep that in mind before saying anything nasty!

I also want to thank Frank at Music Gallery in Chicago, he was my goto guy for this and he is just the coolest and best custom shop dealer to work with ever.

The works:

That is killer! Love the fact that you went with the vintage radius, and that is a seriously sweet combination with the ebony board and no markers. Like a stealth fighter. Very cool modern update on the classic Strat inspiration. I picture you rockin' some shoegaze festival outside Area 51 with that beauty! Congrats!

Thanks man!

In regards to the vintage radius, for whatever reason I have a heck of a time with the 9.5 radius and modern necks, I have always played on 72 Reissues, and a few other's along that line, I find them most comfortable.

I do as well. I can't get along with a modern radius Fender bass neck to save my life. I prefer the 51-55 neck width which is right in between the modern B and late 50's-60's vintage C. However, even my enourmous 57 Reissue is more comfortable than a narrower modern neck because of the 7.25. It's perfect for me. Nice to see I'm not alone.

Unique! Can now understand the time frame given the workmanship required.

The only thing missing on that guitar is the neck markers for me. So very nice, that is close to the type of guitar I am in to. I love unique, and I love the look of this. Enjoy :D

Killer guitar. Thanks for sharing.
Truly none more black.
Love everything about it including the big headstock.
Frank as you mentioned is a great guy to deal with.
Very unique.
Congrats!

I like it. It's different, and not your everyday closet relic job. I must say, this has to be one of the most daring orders I've seen and it is awesome :)

Man, the CS should really take up this idea. Like a white-out Strat with gold vinyl pickguard and gold hardware. Everything else white even the neck & headstock and fingerboard.

Or matte army style green Tele with black hardware and brass alloy frets.. 8)

Thanks, It took me awhile to plan it out and admittedly I did a test run with a partscaster, but I am definitely thrilled with the outcome.
