Hello.
I was thinking of buying a used 2005 Custom Shop '66 Stratocaster. The pickups appear to have Abigail Ybarra's initials on them and a date, which indicates that she inspected them. My question is: Did she always initial the bottom of a bobbin on one side of the wires and then date them on the other side of the wires, or did she sometimes put her initials AND the date together right next to each other on one side of the wires? I hope this makes sense. I appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

I appreciate the suggestion. I probably should have mentioned that I did look on google images, and did not see any with the initial and date right next to each other, on one side of the wires. If you are looking at the bottom of the pup (with the wires going away/up), they usually all seem to have the "AY" to the left of the wires and the date to the right of the wires. Maybe I can post a pic or two, but the ones I have are from emails. I could put them on photobucket or something. If anyone has seen or owns some AY initialed pups with the initial and date right next to each other instead of the initial and date separated by the wires (as per usual), please let me know. I appreciate your assistance. Thanks. I'll try and get the pics going.

I've never seen initials and date next to each other, nor on the actual hand wound signed pups. Looks very fishy, if being sold, I wouldn't buy...., run Forrest Run:

Thanks for the reply and pic, tt92780, and thanks stratele52 for your input as well. I think you're both right; the pickups in this CS Strat' are suspicious, so I think it would be best to hold out for another, less questionable example. Again, thanks for the assistance, I appreciate it.
