FYI... here's a photo of John Page cradling Buddy's guitar.

The Strat that John Page is holding is Buddy's '58, and that's the one he played just before he died.
The '55, Buddy's first Strat, and the one which the CS one is modelled on, was stolen.

Yes, Buddy Hollys last Strat. I would love to be able to come over to America and see it, best start saving my penny's Haha. His 58 Strat is a real nice looking guitar but it would be a real treat to see his 55, shame it was stolen. My girlfriend is going to love it when I get chance to have a holiday in America, I have Buddy Hollys Strat on my list to see, Claptons Brownie and Blackie. : D

This is my 50th Anniversary 54 Strat built by Mark Kendrick. Will get some more pictures up later.

Thank you :)
I am just wondering if anybody knows why on my guitar the masterbuilt logo with Mark Kendricks name is in gold whereas on others like Todd Krause is in black and why mine doesn't have any checking in the laquer where others do? Thank you.

Could be a luthier's preference and nothing more.

We can always rely on Chromeface to fill in the cracks in the pavement for a smooth ride. That was a great article, once posted, on that restoration John Page did. My old '58 was in the same timeline has that one, which was April if memory serves. Mine was neck dated November.

This '58 was among the very first Strats to bear a 3-tone sunburst finish.

Thank you, I never knew that. :) I got to admit the 3-tone sunburst is a really nice colour.

Thank you :) I got this in 2010 and it was in really good condition, but it was the wood grain on the body which made me want it even more :)
