Firstly Hello to everyone on the board and many thanks if you take the time to reply to my questions.

OK, So I brought this incredible beautiful guitar on a whim for what i think was a fair s/h price for current Australian market prices of this level CS Strat. Guitar is currently in transit and i will be taking her apart to view pick up's as i'm concerned they might have been replaced by a previous owner (not necessarily the seller i brought from).

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251287041939 ... 1439.l2649

I have a few questions about this guitar :

- Is this model part of the CS Time Machine Series?

- What kind of pick-ups should be installed in this model and is there a code or serial number for the pick-ups in this guitar?

Many thanks for any replies to these few questions

Stagger looks about right for the 56.
Not sure about the wbl on the hangtag since it looks more vintage than white blonde but this could be the cameras color balance. Does the neckplate has the same serial as the tag?
Someone could have added the wbl. Is that Yamano I see crossed out?
You may be able to tell if the soldering has been disturbed but the pickups should have black bottoms like these

There certainly was a time machine series for the 56.
These days there are possibilities in terms of variations since you can specify what you want from the custom shop so you can never say never...
Hope ths helps somewhat.

Nope they are not fat 50s. They measure a bit less resistance wise. I think they are referred to as custom 50s.
The thing I really like is the feel of the 10/56 neck. Never thought I would so there you go :D

Hiya eltrav,
by the pictures, it looks like the last number on the serial number is an 8-----that serial number does track back to a 56 Strat NOS WBL completed 1/28/2009 and shipped to Fender Australia 2/3/2009.
Specs for that model are below.
Hope that helps.
All the best,
rob
