Hi,

I have a CS Closet Classic 2012 Pro Strat with the Abbey Red Hot Pickups.
I usualy play a lot of different music, Funk, Blues, Rock. I just can't get along with the Sound of the Guitar, the sound ist Muddy, Lifeless, no brightness at all. I Play trough a Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue. I like a Clean, Twangy Tone. Would a Pickup change help in this case? (Wich one?)

(Swamp Ash Body) Maple neck with Laminated Rosewood board.

kind regeards!

Have you tried adjusting the pickup height in relation to the strings?

I have a 2012 CS Deluxe with Abby pickups and they sound anything but muddy and lifeless to me. They're very bright, much more so than the ones in my CP 50's Strat.
I was going to switch out the bridge pickup, but as soon as I heard it, that wasn't going to happen! ;)
