I am interested in picking up one of these beauties and hoped that the kind people here might be able to answer a few questions

I know that there was a limited run of these guitars.
But does anyone have a build number per Master Builder?
I know Dennis made a few as well as Todd, John, Stephen and Yuri.
Is one better than the other as far as "builds" go or is it a personal preference?

Much appreciated!!

I don't have any memory of those kinds of statistics ever being made public save for when one luthier does the entire run like Cruz's Mayer '83 and Krause's Brownie. At this stage of the game, it's a shot in the dark I would think. If it were a Clapton, I'd be giving the preference to Todd Krause.

Thank you for the replies.

Alan, the pictures of your guitar that you gave the link to above does not look like the post you made back in 2007. There are no wear marks near the preamp switch in the pictures you took in 2007 as compared to the pictures you have on your site. I have seen some with both, and was just wondering about the difference.

I have a Buddy Holly tribute made by Dennis and it is beautiful.

I am currently looking at a John Cruz Andy Summers Telecaster. I have heard nothing but great things about his work.

I was looking at a Dennis made Tele because he made the Tele for Andy, but at the end of the day does it really matter who made it, the guitar is a thing of beauty.

It may not with respect to the Summers guitar. However, as with Todd Krause and Eric Clapton, if I were doing an 'as built for the artist' Buddy Guy model, I'd want Paul Waller to build it. He's in charge of Buddy's Custom Shop gear.

The honey blond with the white guard and Noiseless pickups without the active circuit he actually uses or the so called "Dalmation" he played during his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2005?

Likely, the former. However, if you've seen the latest issue of Vintage Guitar magazine, the Custom Shop Buddy Guy guitar Waller is doing has white spots on a kind of irridescent blue field. Unlike the original prototypes,[example on the video] the new guitar has the evenly spaced dot pattern seen on the MIM Artist Series instrument.

As an aside, I wouldn't mind having Todd Krause do a version of the Clapton Christmas Strat for me. The only change I would make would be a solid rock maple neck with 21 medium jumbo frets [I really don't like that laminated 22 fret board], and the body contoured as a '57 with the deep belly cut.

These were done by my luthier on my demand so to match exactly the original one on the latest photos available.
Good eye

Yah! Kinda/sorta, but with the active circuit and a Clapton neck carve.

We already know that the Christmascaster was a gift from Melia and his little girls.

The guitar in question was considered as a regular production model and not a Custom Artist guitar.

Personally I'd like seeing the 0001 fitted with EMGs.

Alan you are a man after my own heart. I figured that is what you did. Little things like that get to me too. Which is probably why I asked my original question.

I can definitely get my hands on a John Cruz or a Stephen Stern. There is a Krause on Gbase, but the dude will not get back to me. I would LOVE to get a Galuszka. I will probably wait and try and find one.

That is ok about the 0001 I have toyed with that idea many times myself.

Personally I think that the next Tribute model be George Harrison's "Rocky" that is LONG overdue and would be a beautiful piece.

So if any of you come across an Andy Summers Galuszka Tele in your travels, let me know')
