Isn't interesting to note the circumstances under which they'll go the limit, and those in which they will not. If you purchased an MIA PRS guitar off the wall in a Guitar Center, you'll walk out with it in case the likes of this one. However, a Fender Custom Shop or Masterbuilt guitar at higher cost will not. It's really shameful and probably my one constant issue with the company.

I'd much rather the guitars play in tune, that to me is much more important than a fancy case - and I am talking high end Fender guitars here. It would be good customer relations too if when you buy one of these high end guitars it would have a fairly decent set up and have the intonation fixed before they let anyone take it home, then of course after that they should take the nut off and set it correctly so that the guitar plays in tune all the way down the neck, not just as an open string and on the 12th fret. I'm not just talking about experience of one guitar here I'm talking about quite a few. I do get the impression that lots of people on these forums either don't play their instruments or are tone deaf. Just try holding down a C (3rd fret) on your A string and measure it with a good tuner and see what I mean.

And hey Fender why don't you just do a bit of work and find out what the correct measurements for the nut are in the first place?

Imagine the outcry that there would be if an automotive company was selling brand new cars that needed to be taken to a garage and have work done on them first before they were road worthy!

Ok guys 'n' gals, that's my rant over for the day.

Well now! Those are some fairly serious allegations there. If you feel so strongly about this, why not start a separate thread about it so that it can be seen and discussed properly, instead of just posting it in someone else's thread.

Anyone can get into Summer NAMM on Saturday for $10. Musician's day...

As far as guitars that stay in tune? Tonight I did a gig on a Squier Classic Vibe 50's Strat. I have done a lot of mods, but still don't have much tied up in the guitar. It stayed in tune pretty much the entire night. If you get the right tuners and nut, and a decent setup, you can easily stay in tune... It is not rocket science....
