I can only speculate why Clapton does not have the TBX in his personal guitars, but he probably decided that he does not need the extra high end response, thus favoring a standard tone control which is a little easier to fine tune.

This is just one of the reasons for which Eric wanted to remove the TBX from his guitar!

The main reason is that he was not happy with the results he got with the TBX when he swapped the Lace Sensors for the Vintage Noiseless pickups: he said the tone was too muffled.

The Teambuilt EC Customs do have the TBX since 2009.

I know this is Fender... and it's the Brownie thread... but I'd love one of those 000-45. Have wanted a 000-42 for a long time. Lovely guitars!

CITES is watching Lefty, your guitar may never reach U.K....

...or the Mayer Black One......or not being able to ascertain whether or not a TBX was a spec in the Custom Shop Signature Clapton, or whether Mercedes Blue, Midnight Blue, or Black was the way to go.. :wink: :wink:

Still have the Mayer?? You fell in love with that guitar. If you ever find your way to South FL do let us know. There are some Forum guys down here you'll enjoy meeting. Perhaps that will make up for the failure of you making it to NYC.

Lucky you. Take a shovel, an umbrella, and a pair of boots. You'll be prepared for any eventuality.

@ZZDoc

After three fruity years of contributions as a photoarchivist and journalist I finally decided to no longer being a forum member.

A variety of reasons forced me taking the sad decision to quit the forum. I've sent a PM to Brad about my intentions.

To be honest I feel bored about the multiple troll mislabelings I got from certain forumites and really had enough to be mistreated in such way.

I kindly thank all the folks for their knowledge and I strongly encourage them keeping the Fender legacy alive.

¡Adios amigos!

I hope this is a temporary decision and I'm sure you'll miss this Forum as much as we'll miss you.
Take care John :wink:

Ufboy, you still have that MBTK with the maple neck too? I guess it was a '57 reissue, aged but not sure I whether it was relic or heavy relic. I vividly remember the pics you once posted here on this forum and I really liked how it looked. Which aging type did you specify for Todd on that order?

There's still time to order that Clapton, just take it easy and pull the trigger when you feel fit. :wink:
