was actually quite nice - the shade of red was a lot darker than i thought it was going to be (more like a wine or crimson red but with some sheen). the neck was also really comfortably chunky not huge or anything but not skinny.

one thing that was really cool (not that it would be any sort of purchase driver) was the COA on it - havent seen the Brownie one yet but i bet the Lucy blows it away. Its basically an old LP sized white leather book that has eric's name embossed on the front cover. When you open the book, the Beatles white album is on the left and large, seperate photos of george with the guitar and eric with the guitar (where his signature is) on the right.

Yeah that sounds really nice, I also inspected Lucy and was very impressed with it except for that gibson plaque on the back of the guitar plus that plaque on the pick guard, not my cup of tea... The COA on Brownie is really nice, but not as nice as you describe Lucy's...

Well, there again, they've got you handling the guitars, which is one of the concerns voiced herein.

Indeed, at this point I'm not sure what to do but I'm inclined to telling my guy to try to get a completely unpacked guitar... the thing about it is that the one that's on display is dead on accurate and I'm concerned that if I ask for the unpacked it might not be as dead on as the demo...
Thoughts Doc? UffBoy? Alain?

If you are going to be satisfied with the one on display, go for it. However, they may be obliged to keep it there until their end of sale date, which you may or may not know. You will also have to have them guarantee it being kept in a locked display case and not handled by anyone until you take possession. "Sold" "Do Not Touch"!!

Gotcha, as of now is locked in a glass case and my guy has committed not to let anyone have access to the instrument except for viewing... no touching handling or any other type of contact, so that puts me at ease...

funny, i actually commented on the control cavity plaque when i was looking at the guitar today - they should supply an extra, blank one (which they used to on some of the CC guitars) but dont know if lucy comes with a spare or not. the pickguard is a sticker i think.

personally, if it were me i would take one that looks more authentic even if i knew it had been handled.

im psyched to be getting a NIB one...but i also have no idea what the neckwear looks like or heavy it is going to be. if i knew there was a specific one that looked the part and was a good weight (plus knew it was now locked up) i would snag it.

TK's doing around 100 pieces. I'll be interested in knowing where M's guitar sits in the order. It's possible to become brain dead after time with an order like that, although the Cruz Mayer guitar did not suffer that fate so I'm told. UB can speak to that. I'll catch up later...It's 12:14 a.m.

Yes, those were my thoughts originally, I think I might just do that, and let sleeping dogs lie...

They are numbered, the COA reads 51 of 100... according to GC 51 to 100 are the numbers destined to U.S. market but don't quote me on that one...

So then the first one's might be going overseas. Therefore, the look might just be more uniform than you fear not.? Nite!!
